From a Class Project to a Churchwide Mission
Church Spotlight: Morningside Baptist Church
For the past five years, Morningside Baptist Church has faithfully partnered with PS I Love You Ministries through their Sunday school class. Now, they’re taking that partnership churchwide!
Morningside is a biblically based church with a heart for missions, committed to “serving the Lord in both actions and spirit.” Their partnership with PSILY has included collecting needed items, serving during Switchovers, volunteering, participating in the Walk-A-Mile in Their Shoes 5K, and supporting foster children and families in practical ways.
Morningside's partnership story story began with a church member who is also an adoptive parent. After discovering PSILY and its heart for serving children and families in foster care, she saw an opportunity to connect her Sunday school class with the ministry. What began as a class project grew into five years of serving together. Now, her passion for PSILY has helped inspire the church to become an official mission partner!
A Partnership Rooted in Scripture
Their heart for foster care is beautifully rooted in Scripture. Mark 10:14 reminds us, “Let the children come to me,” and Morningside believes every child deserves the opportunity to know the love of God and be reminded that He is there for them, caring for them and loving them. They also hold onto the truth of Matthew 19:26: “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” In a season of life that can feel complicated, Morningside hopes their service helps point children and families toward God, allowing faith to become “the foundation everything else is built on.”
