Church Spotlight: Springwell Church

This month, we’re honored to spotlight Springwell Church in Taylors, South Carolina. Springwell has partnered with us as a sponsor for about a year, though their Support Pastor, Matthew Haines, has personally been connected to our ministry for nearly three years. When they describe their heart for children and families in foster care, one word rises to the top: hope.
A Church Built on Hope
At its core, Springwell Church has been passionate about creating a place where people can encounter hope and discover a new life in Christ. Thirty years ago, their founding pastor, Scott, recognized a need to create a church for those who may never feel comfortable in a traditional church setting. From the beginning, their heart has been to reach people where they are-especially the most vulnerable.
They believe deeply in the power of recovery and the transforming work of Jesus. That heart naturally extends to children and families involved in foster care.
How the Partnership Began
Springwell’s connection to PS I Love You began personally. Their Support Pastor, Matthew, and his wife, Ansley, are foster parents who were deeply impacted by the mission of PSILY. What started as a personal connection grew into a church-wide partnership, with Springwell stepping in as a sponsor.
When asked how partnering with PS I Love You aligns with their mission and values, they shared:
“We believe in helping people find hope, life & freedom in Jesus. The PSILY team is doing that for the most vulnerable each and every day. We believe that one intentional moment can change someone’s trajectory forever.”
As sponsors, Springwell Church is helping create those intentional moments where foster families feel seen, supported, and not alone.
Why Foster Care Matters to Springwell
For Springwell Church, caring for children and families in foster care isn’t just an initiative: it’s a calling. They see it as part of the biblical call to serve widows and orphans. They aren’t afraid of the messy, complex realities families face. In fact, they lean into it. Within their own church community are foster parents and biological parents walking through active DSS cases. They see firsthand how faith in Jesus can make a radical difference on both sides of the story.
A Word to Other Churches
Their encouragement to other churches considering getting involved?
“Do it! The PSILY team makes it so easy to jump in and be part of what they are doing. They are encouraging and communicative. They help us to see where our contributions are being utilized and invite us in to be part of the day to day.”
We are so incredibly grateful for Springwell Church and their willingness to step into the story. Partnerships like this remind us that foster care ministry was never meant to be done alone - it truly takes a village.
Thank you, Springwell Church, for choosing hope, for living in the messy, and for believing that one intentional moment can change someone’s trajectory forever. Because of churches like you, the love of Jesus is being felt by HIS kids. 🤍
