A special message from Kay Kirby
(please excuse the buffering in the middle of the video, like most others, we are still having internet/connectivity issues)
Thank you so much for your continued support of children in foster care and the families who serve them. The past week and a half we have seen a lot of desperate situations, here in our community and the communities surrounding us. Sometimes it’s hard to know how to move forward when we’ve been hit and our lives have been turned upside down. Helene has left us with different physical possessions lost, our routines were lost, and hit us emotionally, just not knowing exactly what to do in times of crisis.
It reminds me of the kids we serve here at PS I Love You. Daily we see kids that come into foster care. They lose their family. They lose their homes. They lose their possessions. Sometimes they lose their school and their friends. Their routines are turned upside down.
At PS I Love You we strive to meet those needs physically and emotionally and we’re going to continue to do that, to encourage our kids and our families… that’s what we are going to do.
We are approaching our 5K in Spartanburg, we are going to move forward with it. Duncan Park does look different than it has in years past. It may not have the fall foliage and beautiful leaves like it normally does because the trees have been messed up a bit, but we are going to move forward. We are going to pray for our community. We are going to pray for the kids in foster care who have been impacted by Helene and the other things in their lives that they are struggling with.
We appreciate your support and look forward to what the Lord is going to do. God always provides and He is going to provide for the people here in our community and the surrounding counties and states. We are looking for ways to support those counties, to help with their kids in foster care. Thank you for the opportunity.
Kay
